Louis S. DeSorbo manages the Firm’s Personal Injury Department and is the Firm’s primary Trial Attorney. In that capacity, he represents clients who suffered injuries as a result of another party’s negligence. Mr. DeSorbo handles cases in all areas of personal injury including medical malpractice, labor law, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability and police misconduct cases. His efforts over many years of practice have resulted in the recovery of millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for his clients.

Mr. DeSorbo is a seasoned litigator who has tried over 200 cases in Court. Before Mr. DeSorbo joined the Rybak Firm in 2016, he had worked as a Senior Trial Attorney in some of the largest personal injury firms in New York City. Mr. DeSorbo was involved in multi-state litigation in connection with the American Airlines crash in the Rockaways, as well as representation of police officers, pro bono, with respect to claims against the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund.

Mr. DeSorbo is well-respected as a vigorous opponent by his adversaries. For the vast majority of his career, Mr. DeSorbo has concentrated on plaintiff’s personal injury litigation and is highly familiar with many insurance adjusters and most defense counsels. Mr. DeSorbo is extremely adept at getting maximum value on every case he and his team prosecute. Mr. DeSorbo does not retreat from a challenge and succeeds in complex cases. In a recent case, Mr. DeSorbo represented a motorcyclist struck by a motor vehicle with a limited insurance policy. Mr. DeSorbo successfully proved that the intersection where the collision occurred should have had a 4-way stop sign, and, as a result, the City of NY paid a significant settlement.

Mr. DeSorbo earned a Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School where he received the Jerome Prince award in Evidence. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from SUNY Buffalo where he attended on an academic scholarship. In addition to the practice of law, Mr. DeSorbo devotes his free time to various charitable causes. Mr. DeSorbo works considerably with animal rescues and provides free legal service to various organizations and pet owners around the Country.
